Julia O’Hara Stiles is an American actress. Julia was born in New York City, New York, United States on March 28, 1981. Stiles began drama at age 11 and finished her screen first appearance as Erica Dansby in 6 episodes of the TV sequence Ghostwriter (1993-1994).
Her initial film character was in I Love You, I Love You Not (1996), followed by a most important character in the crime story Wicked (1998), for which she was awarded the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Award for Best Actress. Detractor Stephen Holden referred to her as one of cinema’s “brightest young stars”, but the movie met with usually adverse reviews.
Critic Scott Foundas supposed while she was, as forever, “irrepressibly engaging”, the movie was a “strange profession option for Stiles“. This echoed censure in appraisals of A Guy Thing (2003), an idealistic humor through Jason Lee and Selma Blair.
